Convert PROC's to GUI

Fort Lauderdale, Florida June 11, 2006
Binary Star Development Corporation, the makers of the Nucleus Environment, announced a break through today in a converter, being able to convert PROC's or stored procedures to run as modern applications within a graphic user interface, or GUI.
PROC, a procedural language used by Multi-Value / Pick based systems, similar to unix shell scripts or windows batch files, consist of terse, macro commands. PROC's are widely used to accept operator input, and drive reports or front-end basic programs and generally lack security, user-friendly features or a modern appearance.
A revolutionary procedure from Binary Star (as yet un-named) is able to convert complex multi-field PROC's to run as a modern applications, with pop-up selection lists, sophisticated validations and interactive help in a secure environment providing meaningful operator feed-back and a choice of report outputs including display, print, print-to-file, fax, HTML, Excel and others.
According to Lee Bacall, the President of Binary Star, the ability to automatically generate pop-up choices from PROC-styled T,(column, row) references, adding real validations, and converting multi-IF statements and UO1AD user exits is seen as a break-through in enabling Multi-Value systems to finally be viewed as modern applications.
Converted PROC's can now run as either GUI applications or graphic character applications within the Nucleus framework, according to Binary Star sources.
